Renata Flitworth was left on her own after he intended husband was killed in an avalanche before they had a chance to marry. From this she derived her no-nonsense attitude and got on with her work at a farm she owned in the Ramtops, not far from Sheepridge.

Her claim to fame is that she employed Bill Door (Death), who was so impressed by her that he let her live long enough to enjoy the much awaited annual barn dance.
